The lip hooks over the front edge of a standard countertop. It suits a squared or lightly rounded edge with a normal overhang. It will not seat properly on a counter with no overhang, or on a thick slab or heavily profiled edge.
The lip is bare stainless steel and rests on the counter edge under the board's own weight — it does not clamp or grip. Lift the board rather than dragging it, particularly on polished stone.
40 × 30 cm suits everyday prep on most counters. 40 × 50 cm gives more room for dough and batch prep. 40 × 60 cm is the full pastry surface, best on a larger stretch of counter.
